Aesthetic Individualism, or Dancing Solo in the 21st Century was a talk by Serbian-born, Brussel-based performance theorist and performance creator Bojana Cvejić, co-founding member of TkH editorial collective. In her talk, Cvejic considered questions related to how individuals seek their self-knowledge in embodiment and artistic intensity. How do aesthetic qualities of experience shape a predominantly individualized sense of the self? And alternatively, can one “perform” oneself trans-individually, in a kind of collective individuation?
The talk was supported by Artis and Kelim Choreography Center, Bat Yam. Cvejić visited Israel as part of an Artis independent research trip.
