Artis welcomed Dana Yahalomi, co-leader of Public Movement for a month-long residency and research period in New York in preparation for a public performance in 2012. Yahalomi examined issues surrounding public and private space; the history of art and activism in New York; the culture of memorials, monuments, and commemoration; and disaster and emergency relief efforts within the urban environment. At the end of the monthlong research, Yahalomi presented a talk at the New Museum on Public Movement’s actions from 2006–10.
