Naama Arad worked on site at ACUD for a month, producing a new site-specific work that relates to the special architecture of the two-floor exhibition space and the venue in general. In addition, she presented other new and existing sculptures that continue her interest in what curator Nicola Trezzi called her “anatomical détournement”: a fascination with the contradictions between body and mind, the rational and the emotional as well as with language and its impossibility to represent our sentiments. The ACUD exhibition, curated by Elodie Evers, continues Arad’s interest in site-specificity, responding to the (social) architecture of the space she displays in and taking into consideration its particular surroundings.
