And a River Went out of Eden was a site specific installation at The Schocken Library in Jerusalem, presented in 2018, that was inspired Aby Warburg the Mnemosyne Atlas. A picture atlas consisting of forty wooden panels covered with black cloth, the Mnemosyne Atlas includes nearly 1,000 pictures from books, magazines, and newspapers from various cultures, periods, and locations arranged by theme and visual affinities. Elyakim’s installation adopts Warburg’s methodology of arrangement, exploring and exposing it at once.
