Public Movement presented a new version of their action Rescue as part of the 2017 European Cultural Capital of Culture in Aarhus, Denmark. Rescue is a dance of politics, an endless preparation drill for an inevitable disaster. It is an exercise of life-saving and a street party, celebrating the intimacy that can be created between human bodies. On a pile of rubble, five Public Movement members performed a composition of movements derived from their research and training with rescue forces in Israel and Europe. This choreography of extrication is an extension of useful and familiar movements that are usually practiced in sites of mass casualty. Rescue is based on the action Emergency (2008) by Omer Krieger and Dana Yahalomi. Public Movement director: Dana Yahalomi. Public Movement members: Ran Ben Dror, Maayan Choresh, Laura Kirshenbaum, Meshi Olinky, Danielle Shufra. Music by Yoni Silver.
