Artis and the Center for Contemporary Art presented an evening with curator Jens Hoffmann, who spoke about his idea of the exhibition as a dramatic construction and the advantages and disadvantages of theatricality in the gallery space. He focused on a trilogy of exhibitions he curated in San Francisco at the CCA Wattis Institute that were based on three iconic American novels: “The Wizard of Oz” (2009), “Moby Dick” (2010) and “Huckleberry Finn” (2011).
Case in Point is a series of talks and thematic panel discussions that take place during Artis’ Curatorial Seminar in Israel. Through presentations and a moderated discussion, participants focus on the practices of international and Israel-based curators, and investigate contemporary topics in the field of curating.
