Zac Hacmon's solo-exhibition, “Mi Sueño” ("My Dream" in Spanish), is a socially engaged, site-specific, and immersive installation that incorporates sound, large-scale sculptures, and video. The exhibition follows the individual stories of two asylum seekers from Nicaragua and Saudi Arabia, respectively, who fled their home countries due to their LGBTQ+ identities and political persecution. "Mi Sueño'' creates a fictional environment where cultures interact, and where the viewer experiences shifts between feelings of belonging, entrapment, and freedom.
