Exhibition Grant

A major traveling exhibition of contemporary art from, “Visions of Place: Complex Geographies in Contemporary Israeli Art,” showed at the Stedman Gallery at Rutgers University in fall 2015 and at Towson University, in Maryland, the following spring. The exhibition included the work of 36 contemporary artists from Israel and focused around the idea of geography, which, in all its many manifestations—physical, personal, religious, political, historical, economic—is an inescapable part of Israeli life, psyche, and art. Although focused specifically on Israel, the issues raised by the exhibition have wide interest and applicability in the broader contemporary world.
