Consisting of a site-specific installation and a series of related drawings, Reuven’s solo exhibition continues his exploration of architecture and the layered histories of sacred spaces. The exhibition features a tessellated sculpture that responds to the original architecture of the building as a former Catholic school. Made of 1329 small birch elements laminated with colored PVC edge-banding, the sculpture has the potential to unfold, dramatically extending into the gallery space in countless configurations. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of sources—from indigenous weaving, science fiction, and video games, to early modernism—visitors may walk around the work as a dynamic field that solicits introspection.
