For her biggest exhibition to date in Europe, Naama Tsabar presented three evolving bodies of work—Work On Felt, Barricade, and Transition—that examine human sociality, behavior, and the underlying role of intimacy and performativity. Straddling the fields of sculpture and performance, Tsabar creates objects that function both as artworks and musical instruments. The works on view all share the potential of activation at any given moment: they are on and ready to emit sound. At Kunsthaus Baselland, the artist also put together a band of local musicians who wrote, played, and performed a new musical composition weaving the three works together through movement and sound.
