Creative Association of Curators TOK in partnership with the Israeli Center for Digital Art presented the project Mobile Archive, a traveling collection of Israeli and international video art, shown in Russia for the first time. The archive travelled to St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Nizhniy Novgorod, where it was accompanied by series of screenings and artist talks with Dor Guez, Omer Krieger, and Ruti Sela, respectively. In St Petersburg Mobile Archive was also accompanied by the exhibition “Silent Among Us” at Loft Project ETAGI, which focused on the sociopolitical landscape of contemporary Israel.
The Mobile Archive was gathered by the center for Digital Art and includes video art, sound art, film, and documentation of performances and installations that had been exhibited at the center, as well as other works by leading Israeli artists in the field of media art. Many of the works were linked thematically through questions of identity, militarism, and nationalism, as well as other issues relevant to the region. Since its first iteration in Hamburg Kunstverein in 2007, the Mobile Archive has been shown as an independent project as well as a part of various art events at more than twenty venues, including WYSPA Institute of Art in Gdansk, Art in General in New York, Centro Da Ciltura Judaica in Sao Paulo, and many others. Its Russian iteration was curated by Maria Veits
