Artist Bio
Within her practice, video and performance artist Tamar Katz often focuses on situations in which intimacy, violence, and bodily objectification intersect. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and screenings within Israel, Germany, and the UK. Her solo exhibitions and performances include those at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2023, 2021), Ashdod Museum of Art (2020), Old-Jaffa Museum (2020), Maya gallery TLV (2022), Artists-Studios, Tel Aviv (2016), Bezalel Gallery, Tel Aviv (2016), Gabirol Gallery, Tel Aviv (2015), among others. Tamar previously participated in the A-Z West residency program in Joshua Tree, CA (2019), and the ZUMU artists residency program in Kiryat-Yam, Israel (2019). From 2019–2022, Katz was a lecturer alongside Eitan Buganim in the art department of Shenkar College. www.tamar-katz.com
