Assaf Gruber’s new film examines the collection of the Neue Galerie in Graz and the people behind its acquisitions. Oscillating between fact and fiction, the film investigates the interplay between ideologies and personal biographies. It looks at how an institution’s political orientation can impact the lives of individuals, and underlines the myriad ways in which institutions choose to represent and communicate scientific and historical facts.
The film was commissioned by Steirischer Herbst for the 55th edition of the Steirischer Herbst Festival in Graz.
