As part of the 2021 edition of steirischer herbst festival, titled “The Way Out,” artist Yael Bartana will premier a new work, which was commissioned by the festival. The work is a performance piece that will be presented in a classical theater setting in Graz, and will be filmed and live streamed. The work is presented within the curatorial framework of “The Way Out,” which is strongly influenced by the re-opening of public life and the relaxing of lockdown measures. In this context, steirischer herbst is exploring opportunities to re-claim venues of contemporary art in public spaces and enclosed theaters.
