In Soundtrack, Ben-Ner reflects on moments in a father’s life, against the background of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which haunts everyday life in Tel Aviv. Filmed in the artist’s kitchen with his friends and family as subjects, the video presents scenes of a household apocalypse where, in an absurd and burlesque way, household appliances get out of control. These sequences are interspersed with scenes of Ben-Ner’s daughter watching footage of recent conflicts in Israel/Palestine with candor and incomprehension.
