Artist Bio

Michal Luft is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brussels. Her artistic practice encompasses photography and site-specific installations, in which she explores ordinary objects and spaces as reflections of human fragility and vulnerability.

Luft obtained an MFA from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp (2022), and a BFA from Shenkar Multidisciplinary Art School, Tel Aviv (2018). Her research project, Living Room, is supported by the Royal Academy Antwerp (2024-25). Her works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, including S.M.A.K., Ghent; Marres, Maastricht; Rosenfeld Gallery, Tel Aviv; Steinhardt Museum of Natural History, Tel Aviv; and the Haifa Museum of Art, among others. 

Luft received several awards, including the InSitu³ Prize from The Royal Academy, Antwerp (2022); Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture (2022); Rabinovich Foundation Award (2021); Adams Prize for Emerging Artists (2019); and AICF Award for extraordinary achievement (2018).
