Artist Bio
Matan Golan lives and works in Tel Aviv. He received his BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Golan’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Rosenfeld Gallery in Tel Aviv, Artist Studio Gallery in Tel Aviv, and SITE Gallery in Chicago, among other institutions. He has received various awards, including the 2021 Young Artist Award from the Israeli Ministry of Culture, the Plumas Foundation artist grant, the Incentive Scholarship from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Rabinovich Foundation Special Projects Grant, and the Lauren and Mitchell Presser Award for Video Art. His work is included in the collections of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Phoenix Collection, and various private collections.
