During her two-month residency at Node Center for Curatorial Studies in Berlin, Iohanna Nicenboim worked on “Letters from the Field,” a group exhibition and publication curated by participants of the center's 2012 Summer Residency Program. “Letters from the Field” features work by twenty artists working in Berlin. The curators-in-residence invited artists to respond to six contemporary topics that address histories, futures, and fictions. Functioning as a conceptual framework to the exhibition, the publication contains artists’ contributions and essays by the curators. The book is presented in a malleable format that can be rearranged by the viewer, with one chapter left partially blank for additional responses.
