Artist Bio

Efrat Klipshtein holds an M.A. in Industrial Design from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa and a B.A. in Psychology and Geography from Ben-Gurion University, Beersheba, Israel. Klipstein studied art at the Beit Berl College of Art (HaMidrasha). Her work has been exhibited in various museums, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art; the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; and the Mishkan Museum of Art, Ein Harod, as well as in galleries in Israel and globally. Klipshtein has received several awards and participated in residency programs in Cleveland, New York, and Barcelona.

In her artistic practice, Klipshtein explores tensions between stable ideas and trembling realities. Klipshtein transforms familiar and accessible objects and materials. Unraveling an object’s specific function or narrative, her work offers a new language to understand materials. Efrat is the Chief Curator and Senior Deputy Director at Ramat Hanadiv - Gardens and Nature Park. In her most recent position, she served as Chief Curator of the Youth and Art Education Department at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
