"Perimeters" is a comprehensive and interactive exhibition, featuring recent and new works by Naama Tsabar that invite viewers to use their bodies to manipulate and penetrate physical and conceptual borders and boundaries. Spanning three of the museum’s lower level galleries, "Perimeters" features a selection of Tsabar’s previous works as well as new iterations of her recent Inversion series of sculptures. In this new series, inverted instruments are installed within the museum’s walls, requiring viewers to reach their body into the wall to activate the work, and emit sound. Also on view is Melodies of Certain Damage, a work made of fragmented, shattered guitars that can be activated by the public as well as by musicians that Tsabar collaborates with for public performances. Through performance, sculpture, and installation, Tsabar transforms the museum’s architecture into playable string, vocal, and motion-activated works, while exploring interlocking themes of gender, performance, rock music, and nightlife culture.
