MIDNIGHT is a video installation by Deville Cohen, a roller coaster ride made of enlarged Xerox reproductions, projections, and everyday objects. The ride lasted thirty minutes, drawing on the narrative of a nineteenth-century novella titled Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions. MIDNIGHT was part of “LUNA PARK,” an installation of an amusement park and its rides that combined video with elements of theater and sculpture that Cohen developed during a 2014 residency at the Wooster Group and performed at The Performing Garage, the experimental theater company’s space in SoHo.
