For Liora Kaplan’s solo exhibition at the KMAC Museum, a new series of sculptural works is presented alongside an immersive sound environment.
The sculptures on view–totemic forms that combine found 20th-century Israeli ceramics with historical fountain designs–are at once an ode to Israel’s golden age of arts and crafts, and a formal investigation of sculpture itself. Fusing shapes and designs into new patterns, Kaplan’s objects function as vessels for new ideas, associations, and artistic creation.
