“Zgodnie z Instrukcją / Instructions Included,” curated by Magda Kardasz, included several of Ben-Ner’s significant works to date, including Treehouse Kit (2005, first presented at the Venice Biennale), Stealing Beauty (2007), and Second Nature (2008). The films, which are often autobiographic, are tinged with a comic-sad nature which encourage contemplation and self-reflection, and evade simple diagnosis or easy solutions as they deal with complex questions from family to larger economic structure. They deal with the necessity and curse of having to comply with instructions.
