Artist Ben Hagari’s new film, is an absurd tale that follows a pencil from the moment of its manufacturing, through its metamorphosis into a human, and up to its final breaking point.
Presented as a solo exhibition at the Boiler Room in New York, the film is a poetic lament on the loss of handwriting in contemporary culture. Constructed as an intergenerational journey in which an object is revived by cinematic means, the work brings forth alternative ways of communication in an increasingly digitized world.
