Dani Gal, Historical Records

Historical Records is a vast collection of commercially released vinyl records that document political events of the twentieth century. The collection contains speeches and interviews of those who were in power, others who objected to this power, war and peace agreements, human rights struggles, and other radio broadcasts of the events that shaped history. Exploring how the recorded events were commodified, the project highlights the role of sound documentation within the interplay of personal and collective memory.
