“From the seafoam and clouds to the here and now” was a group exhibition that examined how contemporary artists from Tel Aviv use the form, myth, message, and image of Tel Aviv’s Modernist architecture as their subject. Central to the show is the influence of The White City in Tel Aviv, a collection of about 4,000 buildings built from the 1930s in a unique form of Bauhaus or International Style. The artists in the show presented work that deconstructs the physical and psychological qualities of different built environments, ranging from institutional and residential architecture to plazas, parks, and gardens, and included both newly commissioned work by Providence College Galleries alongside already existing projects. Participating artists included David Adika, Ronny Carny, Yael Efrati, Hilla Toony Navok, and Shay Zilberman.
