Curated by Nicola Trezzi, “Eva and Emerick” was Yael Efrati’s most comprehensive solo exhibition to date and included both existing and new works. Efrati conducted research in Romania, integrating her personal and familial ties to the country into her artistic practice. The show, which included photography and sculpture, focused on the impact of light in both mediums, specifically how the sun can “burn” an imprint onto objects. The duration that such a process takes and the imprint left mark the passing of time and speak to the physical and metaphysical mutability of memory itself.
