“But Ears Have No Lids: Maayan Amir and Ruti Sela” is a month-long series of online and in-person screenings and talks curated by Curatorial Seminar alum Renan Laru-an , and presented by the Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN). Looking at Sela and Amir’s work and ideas on extraterritoriality, the series initiates a discussion of the same concept in the context of the Philippines and Southeast Asia. This series is part of a year-long screening program on hearing(s), titled "But Ears Have No Lids," examining the nature and development of hearing in three amplitudes that call for the ears to pay attention: hearing as a field of “being touched”; the documentary agency of hearing; and hearing’s right or refusal to inform.
