This exhibition presents a series of notebooks by artist, psychoanalyst, and philosopher Bracha L. Ettinger, whose work is part of the Castello di Rivoli’s collection. Since the early 1980’s, Ettinger has routinely used notebooks to annotate and trace her reflections, associations, and drawings. Written in French, English and Hebrew, the notebooks provide insight into Ettinger’s theories, spanning psychological and feminist frameworks, and are presented in a unique site-specific installation alongside audio recordings of the artist reading from the books. This show is part of a major exhibition program at Castello di Rivoli titled “Espressioni” that examines expressionism in art across different historical epochs and cultural movements.
