BorderLight Theatre Festival presents the North American premiere of the interactive performance Peter Is Back by artist Amir Yatziv. The work features an AI-driven avatar named Peter, who is an ape inspired by Franz Kafka's 1917 short story “A Report to an Academy.” Blending theater, visual art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, the project explores identity, authorship, ethics, and the evolving relationship between humans and technology. Through a live dialogue with the artist, Peter reflects on becoming human. Each performance alters slightly, shifting between script and improvisation, control and unpredictability.
