“Between Worlds” is a retrospective presenting seminal sculpture and video work by Sigalit Landau, alongside a new video diptych that the artist created during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition features works that relate to the Dead Sea as a material and context for artmaking, such as Landau’s salt sculptures, which are made by immersing objects into the saturated saline waters of the Dead Sea. In her practice, Landau presents the Dead Sea as ecologically volatile, due to its rapid shrinking, and politically charged, considering its location on the border between Israel and Jordan, while referencing biblical stories, family history, and imagining the future.
