Centering around the idea of the physical backbend, the group exhibition at Museum der Moderne Salzburg illuminates the art-historical roots of the pose while presenting current engagements with the theme.

In the exhibition, Ronit Porat presents a room-sized installation of recent collages. Based on historical photographs and other imagery, Porat’s collages link the visual motif of the backbend to the realms of dance, psychiatry, and the natural world.
