Exhibition Grants

Overview

Artis Exhibition Grants provide support for solo and group exhibitions or projects at international organizations, such as museums, non-profits, biennials, and festivals outside of Israel that include artists from Israel at key moments in their career. Artis supports exhibitions and projects that encourage critical thinking, foster discussion about contemporary art from Israel, and create new connections across disciplines and cultures. Since 2004, Artis has supported exhibitions at major, international institutions, as well as smaller venues and alternative spaces. For a list of past grantees, click here.

Funding Priorities

Artis supports projects that demonstrate advanced curatorial thinking, experimentation, artistic excellence, include audience engagement programs, and have the potential for deep impact on an artist’s careers. In alignment with our mission and values, Artis gives preference to cutting edge, experimental work; projects that engage with critical topics relevant to the public discourse; projects that generate transformative experiences and ideas; and projects that are interdisciplinary and collaborative, involving professionals from various fields. We believe in paying artists for their work, and encourage applicant organizations to include artist fees, stipends, and other forms of direct compensation for artists in application budgets.

Exhibition Grants may not be used to support: exhibitions or projects in Israel, tuition fees, residencies, commercial galleries, religious centers or religious art projects, publications, or general operating support.
