Exhibition Grants provide support for solo and group exhibitions outside of Israel that include artists from Israel at key moments in their career. Artis has supported exhibitions at both major international institutions including biennials and museums, as well as smaller venues and alternative spaces since 2004.
Successful grantees demonstrate advanced curatorial thinking, experimentation, and artistic excellence, and include audience engagement programs. Preference is given to applicants that demonstrate that artists are adequately supported as reflected in the project’s budget (this might include artist stipends, production and travel support, and other basic costs associated with an exhibition or project).
Guidelines and Eligibility Requirements
Grants are awarded to organizations, such as museums, non-profits, biennials, and festivals – for a range of exhibitions, including institutional or independent projects, events, or presentations that feature one or more artists who identify as being from Israel. Artists may identify as being from Israel regardless of current location of residence, race, religion, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political persuasion, or additional national identity.
