Past Public Program
The exhibition, presented in collaboration with Artis, showed a selection of work from the show that debuted in NYC at The Nathan Cummings Foundation and featured artists that explore the complexity of contemporary life in Israel through its peripheral communities. Rather than depicting the country as a unified or stable entity, Centrifuge expressly engages with a multiplicity of identities and viewpoints – whether ethnic, religious, cultural or political – and the vying forces that push some communities to society’s edges and others to its core.
The selection at Shulamit Gallery included works by artists Inbal Abergil, Anisa Ashkar, Luciana Kaplun, Aim Deuelle Luski, Ido Michaeli, and Roee Rosen. Centrifuge is accompanied by a curatorial essay by Chen Tamir.
