For her first solo exhibition at ACUD, curated by Elodie Evers, Naama Arad worked on site for one month, and produced a new site-specific work that relates to the special architecture of the two floor exhibition space and the venue in general. In addition, she presented new and existing sculptures that continue her interest in what curator Nicola Trezzi called “anatomical détournement”: A fascination with the contradictions between body and mind, the rational and the emotional as well as with language and it’s impossibility to represent our sentiments. Arad further explored these themes in this new series of works.

Naama Arad’s work is often site-specific to the space she exhibits in, responding to its (social) architecture and taking into consideration its particular surroundings.
