Michal Helfman: I’m so broke I can’t pay attention
K. Gallery
New York
June 14–July 2, 2015

Curated by Artis research trip alumn Prem Krishnamurthy, I’m so broke I can’t pay attention was Michal Helfman’s first solo exhibition in New York.
Helfman’s multidisciplinary work moved between sculpture, architecture, performance, and drawing. For the exhibition at K., Helfman focused on relationships between revealed and hidden agents within society. The installation approach combined the backstage/front-stage structure of theater to discuss the real and the symbolic, cultural and financial exchanges and markets.
